About Me

I was born and brought up in Bristol by my parents alongside two brothers.
I left school and worked for Barclays Bank for a few years. However, I always yearned to be a professional singer
and took the plunge in my early twenties. Singing all over the country in the winter and based in Pontins, Brean Sands
in the summer was my ideal life. However my priorities soon changed when I had my son in 1990. I then began singing
part-time while concentrating on being a mum.
When my son was older, I trained to be a pre-school teacher and worked
in a pre-school for a number of years. It was during this time that I realised I was good at listening to people and
helping people and I began to think how great it would be to train as a counsellor. I began my training and studied
for four years and eventually became a qualified counsellor. During my training, I worked for Cruse Bereavement Care
and continue to do so to this day.
I consider myself to be an extremely competent counsellor and my therapeutic work
adopts a genuine, non-judgemental and empathic manner.
